Profile

The Electronics and Computer Engineering Department was established in 1983 and later upgraded to Electronics and Computer Engineering with an intake of 60 students. The department offers Undergraduate (B.Tech) and Postgraduate (M.Tech) programmes with specialization in Digital Systems having an intake of 06 students. The department has also been recognized as an approved Ph.D. Research Centre by Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune since 2012.

The department is equipped with 10 well-established laboratories catering to both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. These laboratories are designed not only to meet curriculum requirements but also to satisfy current industrial standards.

The undergraduate programme has been accredited twice by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA), New Delhi. The programme is permanently affiliated to Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune and has been permanently accredited by the Institution of Engineers (India) since 2015.

The department has been declared as a NODAL CENTRE of e-Prayog Virtual Labs (Electronics), IIT Bombay. Various workshops on virtual laboratories have been conducted under this initiative. The department has also been recognized as a SUPER RESOURCE CENTRE for the Spoken Tutorial Project, IIT Bombay under the National Mission on Education through ICT (MHRD, Government of India).

A dedicated and research-oriented faculty team drives the department, consistently upgrading their knowledge to keep pace with global technological advancements. Faculty members and students have published and presented research papers at state, national and international levels, earning several accolades.

The department has established professional student bodies including IEEE Student Branch, IETE Students’ Forum (ISF), Electronics and Computer Engineering Students Association (ECESA), Geoscience and Remote Sensing Society (GRSS) Student Branch, and Women in Engineering (WIE) Affinity Group. The department also maintains its own library with IEEE journals and transactions.

Program Outcomes (POs)

  1. Engineering Knowledge: Apply knowledge of mathematics, natural science, computing, engineering fundamentals and an engineering specialization to develop solutions for complex engineering problems.
  2. Problem Analysis: Identify, formulate, review research literature and analyze complex engineering problems with consideration for sustainable development.
  3. Design/Development of Solutions: Design creative solutions for complex engineering problems considering public health, safety, sustainability, culture, society and environment.
  4. Conduct Investigations of Complex Problems: Conduct investigations using research-based knowledge including design of experiments, modelling, analysis and interpretation of data.
  5. Engineering Tool Usage: Create, select and apply appropriate techniques, resources and modern engineering and IT tools recognizing their limitations.
  6. The Engineer and The World: Analyze societal and environmental aspects and evaluate sustainability impacts including economy, health, safety, legal and cultural factors.

Program Specific Outcomes (PSOs)

  • PSO 1: Design, test and implement electronic systems and appliances related to signal processing, embedded systems, industrial automation and IoT using state-of-the-art components and software tools.
  • PSO 2: Architect, classify and select appropriate technologies and software tools for implementation of computer engineering systems.

Program Educational Objectives (PEOs)

  1. PEO 1: Involve in design, manufacturing, integration and testing of products, software and systems in the field of Electronics and Computer Engineering and allied disciplines.
  2. PEO 2: Solve engineering problems having social relevance by applying knowledge and skill sets related to Electronics and Computer Engineering.
  3. PEO 3: Pursue higher education/research in Engineering/Management or become a successful entrepreneur in related areas.
