For any revolution to make an impact, Computer Engineering holds the key. The Department of Computer Engineering was established in AY 1989-90. The PG Program in ME [Computer Engineering] has started from AY 2011-2012. The PhD Research Centre affiliated by SPPU Pune has started in AY 2022-23. The UG Program of the Department is accredited by NBA in Year 2003, 2008, 2015, 2020, and 2024 (Tier 1). The Department is accredited by Institute of Engineers, India in Year 2015. The institute has received the autonomous status by UGC for all branches in AY 2019-20.

Department well qualified and experienced staff and has 11 PhD Faculty with 10 perusing their PhD. For developing global professions with sound technical knowledge, Department has set up state-of-the-art laboratories having all the leading edge software and hardware to fulfill the requirement of enriched curriculum designed as per Industry standards and requirements.

Total 300 Computers along with a well-equipped project lab have been set up exclusively for final year students for their project work. Department is providing SAP global certification having separate SAP Training lab with necessary software.

Under Train n Hire program, Department has established Industry linkages and MOUs and set up Centre of Excellence (CoE) which includes Virtusa for Full stack JAVA, Celebal for Data Engineering and Cloud, AWS Academy Partnership for AWS Cloud Certifications, DevOps & Cloud, Applied AI and Automaton AI Info-system for AIML, SAP India for SAP Certifications along with special dedicated training provided in the field of Data Science. Every year with support of International Department having collaboration with few International Universities, few students are going for Internship and higher studies at International Universities.

To complement and make the curriculum more interesting, competitive and practical, lot of co-curricular activities are organized and conducted. Different Hobby Clubs and Forums are established at Institute and Department level for the overall development of students. The Department has formed an Association of Computer Engineering Students (ACES) and established the student chapters of professional bodies like IEEE, CSI and GFG. From time to time, these professional bodies, organize various events such as State Level Software Contest, State and National level paper presentation contest, Project Competitions & Workshops on leading technologies like AI and Machine Learning, Data Mining and Cloud Technology, Software Testing, Cyber Security, Java Technology, IOT and Data Analytics etc.

To develop world class engineering professionals with good moral characters and make them capable to exhibit leadership through their engineering ability, creative potential and effective soft skills which will improve the quality of life in society.

1. Engineering Knowledge: Apply knowledge of mathematics, natural science, computing, engineering fundamentals and an engineering specialization as specified in WK1 to WK4 respectively to develop to the solution of complex engineering problems.
2. Problem Analysis: Identify, formulate, review research literature and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions with consideration for sustainable development. (WK1 to WK4)
3. Design/Development of Solutions: Design creative solutions for complex engineering problems and design/develop systems/components/processes to meet identified needs with consideration for the public health and safety, whole-life cost, net zero carbon, culture, society and environment as required. (WK5)
4. Conduct Investigations of Complex Problems: Conduct investigations of complex engineering problems using research-based knowledge including design of experiments, modelling, analysis & interpretation of data to provide valid conclusions. (WK8)
5. Engineering Tool Usage: Create, select and apply appropriate techniques, resources and modern engineering & IT tools, including prediction and modelling recognizing their limitations to solve complex engineering problems. (WK2 and WK6)
6. The Engineer and The World: Analyze and evaluate societal and environmental aspects while solving complex engineering problems for its impact on sustainability with reference to economy, health, safety, legal framework, culture and environment. (WK1, WK5, and WK7).
7. Ethics: Apply ethical principles and commit to professional ethics, human values, diversity and inclusion; adhere to national & international laws. (WK9)
8. Individual and Collaborative Team work: Function effectively as an individual, and as a member or leader in diverse/multi-disciplinary teams.
